Usually “feel-good” movies involve sports or cartoon characters and/or . Temple Grandin the movie, just like actual woman, breaks the mold. I’m not a person who particularly enjoys writing snappy plot summaries, so I’ll just tell you that the film stars Claire Danes as Temple Grandin, an autistic woman who has trouble connecting with people but who can understand animals in a very special way.
The director uses flashes of images, drawings, and imagination sequences to demonstrate how someone with this condition sees the world. Everything about this movie is sublimely executed and Danes’ performance is absolutely superb. I can’t think of a single person I know who can’t find inspiration in watching the depiction of this woman and how she overcame countless obstacles to find her niche and impact the world in a powerful way.
